This is a story of Chiggers and his love for our 19 year old cat, Dot. Chiggers is a mixed breed, long haired, total out door cat who belongs to our redneck neighbors. I say redneck because, other than feeding him, they don't take care of him or give him any love.He shows up on our back porch every day and paws on the glass door for some milk and food, and then scratches for Dot.He didn't like being touched when we first met him but we persisted and now he tolerates it. We inspect him periodically and cut the burrs from his fur. He is skilled at looking humans in the eye and giving a very mournful meow.He's a little rough around the edges, but has been a total gentleman in his relationship with Dot: Sort of the feline version of Walt Disney's Tramp.
